Ferdinando Principiano Langhe Nebbiolo '22

This textbook Nebbiolo offers a perfumed nose of rosehip, cherry, and fresh tar with subtle earthy undertones. The medium-bodied palate is elegant yet structured, with bright acidity and fine tannins framing flavors of red berries, tea leaves, and a touch of white pepper that scored 92 points. Aged 12 months in large Slavonian oak, it finishes with classic Nebbiolo austerity. While approachable now thanks to the excellent 2022 vintage, this will reward 3-5 years of cellaring. A superb introduction to Piedmont's noble grape that pairs beautifully with mushroom risotto or herb-roasted poultry.
