This Bordeaux-style blend from Washington's Columbia Valley (scoring 94 points) represents a collaboration between Philippe Melka and Agustin Huneeus Sr. The 2019 vintage offers an intoxicating nose of blackberry, graphite, and violets, unfolding to reveal layers of dark cherry, espresso, and sweet tobacco on the palate. Aged 22 months in French oak (70% new), the wine displays remarkable structure with polished tannins and a mineral-driven finish that lingers for nearly a minute. While approachable now with decanting, this has the depth to evolve beautifully for another decade. Perfect with dry-aged ribeye or wild mushroom risotto.
