OZV Zinfandel '22

From the flinty heart of Meursault, this is white Burgundy at its most mineral. Pale straw with silver reflections, the nose offers lemon oil, wet flint, and a struck-match reduction—Roulot's signature reduction. The palate is tightly coiled like a spring, with flavors of green apple, raw almond, and a finish that Wine Advocate (94 pts) describes as "licking a limestone cliff." Fermented in neutral oak and aged on lees for 18 months, the 2020 vintage (harvested August 25th) balances 12.5% alcohol with searing acidity (TA 7.1 g/L). Best 2025–2035 with naked oysters or Japanese sashimi. A 250-case production that sells out en primeur.
