Scarlet red in color, 'Las Alturas' is a powerful and intense Pinot Noir from one of the highest elevation vineyards in Santa Lucia. With a rich and structured mouthfeel, the wine offers an aromatic medley of gooseberry, raspberry, and cranberry with hints of ginger, black pepper, and shaved milk chocolate. Dark fruit flavors of wild berries, milk chocolate, toffee, black cherry, and nutmeg are complemented by sun-dried cherry, plum, black and blue fruit compote, cola, white pepper, and toasted oak notes. The beautiful acidity lingers through to a long, mouthwatering finish, making it a perfect pairing for winter squash casserole, roasted duck with cherries and red wine vinegar, and cheeses like Dorothy's Keep Dreaming and mild blue cheeses.
